Accepting these terms
By using How to Run a Climate Resilience Group you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. The guide is coordinated by the Mental Health and Climate Change Alliance (MHCCA).
What this guide is, and is not
This guide is a free educational resource. It shares information, examples, and templates for people who choose to host climate resilience groups, climate cafés, and similar community gatherings.
It is information only. Nothing on this site constitutes professional, medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, financial, or emergency advice. Climate resilience groups as described here are peer and community supports; they are not therapy, counselling, or clinical services, and this site does not create any provider–client relationship.
If you or someone in your group is in crisis or at risk of harm, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line rather than relying on this site.
Your activities are your own
Whether and how you host, join, or facilitate a gathering is entirely your decision. You are responsible for your own safety and conduct, for the venue and activities you choose, and for complying with the laws, regulations, venue rules, and health guidance that apply to you.
MHCCA provides no insurance and no assurance of any kind for gatherings or activities undertaken by people who use this guide. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MHCCA and its partners and contributors are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from activities undertaken based on this guide, from participation in any group, or from interactions between facilitators, participants, or other users.
No endorsement of facilitators
The facilitator registry and map list people who have asked to be listed. An administrator reviews submissions for suitability of public listing only. Approval and listing are not an endorsement, certification, vetting, or recommendation of any facilitator, and MHCCA does not verify credentials, qualifications, or conduct. Any contact or collaboration with a listed facilitator is at your own discretion and risk.
The same applies to ideas and experiences shared on module pages: they reflect their authors’ views, not MHCCA’s, and appear after a review for suitability of public display only.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. Tell us if you believe your account has been used without permission.
Content you submit
You keep ownership of what you submit. By submitting a facilitator profile or a module contribution, you confirm you have the right to share it (including any photo) and you grant MHCCA permission to display it publicly once approved.
Do not submit content that is unlawful, misleading, infringing, confidential, or harmful, and do not include other people’s personal information. We may approve, decline, edit, or remove any submission and may suspend accounts that misuse the site.
External links and resources
The guide links to external organizations, articles, and tools for convenience. MHCCA does not control and does not endorse them, and is not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
No warranty
The site and its content are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the content is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, MHCCA and its partners, contributors, and volunteers are not liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from your use of this site, including decisions made or actions taken based on its content.
Intellectual property
The written guidance and design of this site belong to MHCCA and its contributors. You may use and adapt the templates and materials for your own community group. Do not redistribute the guide’s content as your own.
Privacy
Our handling of information is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site changes. When we do, we will revise the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which MHCCA operates. For questions, reach the Alliance through mhcca.ca.
